Summary: The study was made of a proposed expressway project in the Allentown. Pa, region. The noise impact analyses consisted of field measurements of the ambient noise level, review of a previous study in the area for a different facility, prediction of design year noise levels for Build and Do-Nothing alternatives and determination of noise mitigation measures. The air quality analyses consisted of a review of all available previously collected ambient air quality data in the region, prediction of vehicle emissions in the mesoscale region for Build and Do-Nothing alternatives, and determination of the microscale impact by computer simulation of dispersion of the gaseous air pollutants emitted by traffic on the road.
